Kids Virtual CD-rom and Laptop heat question

Hey all,

I got two questions for you. 1. What is a virtual Cd-rom? I heard it from another forum here, you can make it so your games can be played without the cd? Where can you get them?

2. How much does heat hurt a laptop? Say if you use it for a desktop replacement and leave it on all night, how much does that lessen the life of the laptop?

Ok thanks for all your help.

Nick

virtual cd-roms are fake cd-rom basically. you use programs like alcohol 120%

http://www.alcohol-software.com/ is what i use.

you can make an image of a cd of your choice, and mount it to make windows think you have another cd-rom.

i leave my laptop on all night everyday and i dont have any problems. Who makes the laptop?

1. What GZ3 said. Daemon tools is another, and it's free.

2.Yes, I've had my laptop on from the day I got it (of course, it's sometimes on standby). No problem, they do heat, for one to fry an egg at the bottom, but if it'd hurt, there'd have to be a manufacturing defect and you could return your laptop.

They're not meant to break down just because you have them on.
