SSH browser plugin?

Does anyone know of a plugin for IE or some other web browser so that the browser can d/l files via SSH?

What's wrong with SSL?
SSH isn't meant for file sharing, and I don't understand how it could be used for that.
Even ssh client's use SFTP/FTP to transfer files.

I don't think you can find a plug-in for this, but you can do all your communicating through a SSH tunnel. You need a separate app. There's plenty of tunneling software around, take your pick.

I honestley dont know if SSL is better or worse or the same encryption wise as SSH but if it is the same then that will be fine. SSH can be used for a secure remote command line AND to transfer files using encryption. I guess the goal I am trying to acheive here is this:

-Open up a website that has links to some files
-They will install the browser plugin
-They will be able to just click on the files and then be prompted for a login and password and then the file will begin to d/l.

Hmmmm, I would think you can do this just about as securely with SSL and apache. Just make sure that the user/pass prompt is after the SSL session is started. You could have the list of files publicly viewable and use .htaccess and SSL on the directory with the downloads.

There will be one hiccup that I can think of. Their browser will complain the the servers certificate isnt issued by a trusted party.

Seems like you may be trying to re-invent the wheel, unless I am missing something.
