How to get rid of "Goback" partition?
I worked on this guys comp a while back, and I ghosted his HD to a spare of mine before I rebuilt his.
Unfortunately he had the mucho-gay Roxio GoBack installed.
So now, even more unfortunately, I have the stupid GoBack on my spare hard drive and of course FDISK doesnt show it so I cant delete it with FDISK.
How do I get rid of this stupid crap junk??
(Partition Magic didnt seem to show it either)
Can I just ghost something else quasi-normal to the drive and THEN run fdisk??
Right now, even though fdisk shows no partitions, it wont boot from a cd on the machine and it will still be saying crap about pressing the spacebar to boot, etc.
Over in 3rd world countries they chop peoples hands off for using crap like this.
Anyway, thanks for helping me get rid of this junk so I can get back to work.
Thanks, JP

Nope, never heard of it till now, lol.
Maybe Ill try it if I cant figure out anything else.
I am hoping there is a straightforward way to do it, or something simple I am missing.
Thanks, though.

If there's nothing of import on the HD, I would try a format & c if that would work.

My dad has Goback on his hard drive and we tried reformatting it, no good, the partition is still up. JP, did you ever find a solution?

You could always break the drive. |

a low level format or some kind of security eraser should do the trick. can't remember the one I used last. It was free, fit on a floppy, and wrote 000s and 111s on the HD.

first install GoBack and reboot, then disable it in the options and it should remove itself. |
