question about modem

Hello,
I was woundering how you over ride the resources that windows gives your modem. I am running windows xp and am using an lt winmodem. When I go into the properties of the modem, auto settngs is checked, and greyed out. Is there a way to set your own resources, or change the current values?

have you tried getting an updated driver for it?

yes the drvers are updated for my modem... What is happening is that I'm having trouble with my computer giving me the blue screen of death. I was looking at the resources that my modem uses and I think it's configured improperly. I want to be able to change what it uses.
