Kids Headphones recommendation

I've had an ARCHOS Jukebox for about 6 months and think that it's the greatest gadget since the CD. However, I've grown tired of the stock headphones and want to upgrade.

Can I get some recommendations? Here are my specs:

For casual listening only (gym, traveling, etc.)
Louder than stock phones (the JB needs to be at 95% now to get any volume)
Volume control would be nice (my mp3s seem to have a lot of variation in volume)
On-ear or in-ear
$40 or less

Thanks

Battery operated devices usually deliver longer battery life with higher impedance headphones. Not always, but a majority of players will deliver longer battery life.

You have to balance raising the impedance (for better battery life) with getting too far from the ideal impedance for the player (which may introduce distortions).
Lets say that the stock headphones might be 8 ohms, going to 32 ohms will be about the furthest you should go, give or take 8 ohms. If the stock headphones are already 32 ohms, I do not know of any headphones which are > 32 ohms, so maybe plan on staying at 32 ohms.

I like my Koss UR-20s, good sound but they are classic cans, completely over the ear (circum-aural) - some folks think this style is too hot to wear. No volume controls. $30 at a Circuit City last summer. HTH.

I bought my first set of Sennheiser's about a year ago, and never looked back. On the expen$ive side, but worth every penny.

You're definitely going to want to pick up a pair of KSC-35's, and if you can't find them (might only be available at the site koss.com), get the KSC-50's. They use the same drivers, they just have difference designs and clips (the KSC-35's sit closer to the ear for better bass). You'll wonder why you ever owned stock headphones.

MD,

My KSC-35s arrived yesterday (from Koss directly @$29.99+). I could only do a quick audition and they sound great. It did take me a few minutes to get them on my ears though. They should come with 'installation' instructions.

Thanks for the advice.
