home does not support the remote access ability. You can however download the viewer to the home machine to access xp pro

You probably need to try another tool. pcAnywhere or Radmin, for example. I use Radmin and it's pretty nice.

VNC is good. It has the ability to use SSL. You just need to install an SSL server on each PC you want to connect to. It's not an easy task and installs some DLL's with converted Unix system functions etc...

i just installed realvnc. posted a new thread, but just should've asked here first. anyone want to let me try it? i'm on my laptop at work running win98, but i'd like to see how it works before i tell others about it. if i could connect both using a server and a viewer once that would be great.

in order to play on the desktop of another computer my computer would be the "viewer" and the other set as the "server" correct?

the computer you want to access will be the server.

the viewer is the computer that will access the other computer remotely
