hey this is my first time at tech imo and first time building my comp.
i think i have everything plugged in right the comp turns on and the motherboards logo apears but i cant get past that.i try to hit f1 deleted and all the other buttons but it wont go to the setup screen
specs are
amd athlonxp 2400+
msi k7n2g mainboard
512mb pc 2700
atx 300 wat power supply
radeon 9600 non pro
20 gig western digiatl hard drive
and i have no idea wat the cd drive is
Are you just letting the system run until it gets to this screen? Or did you hit delete during the startup test and go into the BIOS screen? you have to set up your BIOS before you can do anything else.
i have tryed hitting before and after the screen but no affect. the keyboard is working cuz i can restart the comp but hiting f1 or delete doesnt seem dto do anything
heres the website for my mobo http://www.msi.com.tw/program/produc...&MODEL=MS-6570
Look on page 2-31 in your manual.
It describes the procedure for clearing the CMOS.
Make sure that the cap is set at the "Keep Data" (pins 1 & 2) and not at the "Clear Data" (pins 2 & 3).
This might not be your problem though mine was set at the "Clear Data" when it arrived (have the same board).
ughh, I personally don't like MSI but thats besides the point. if you can't get into the BIOS though thats a big problem. I'm sorry but I don't know what else to do. hopefully one of the more experienced members here will jump in on this.

hey my came with it already on keep. i am gonna try to get a pic of how i have everything plugged in so u ugys can see if everything is hooked up right. also when do i hit the buttons to get into set up thz for the help so far
1. make sure the monitor is on before you power on the comp.
2. hit delete while it's doing the memory test, when you see the number counter rising. I would say 7-10secs. after you hit the power button. anyway, it usually says "hit del" on the bottom of the screen when your supposed to.
Press the Delete key after it sarts running the Memory test, if it goes that far.
Also take 5 minutes and go thru and check all your cables.
Make sure pin 1 on the HD, CD drive and floppy cable is set to pin 1 on the drives and the board.
Make sure the HD is set to Master.
