Radeon 9600 Problem.
I have a radeon 9600 Pro with Win XP at AMD Athlon 2600, with 512 of ddr ram.
Now, I had problems before with that card, I played with windows normal opengl settings, and the opengl stucked each 5 mins and must restart.
tho, I made it to be the highest level now, and it works just fine.
the problem, on cs Its allow me to play on 60FPS only, I want to reach 100 fps, so a friend told me to turn vSync off, did that
and the card now getting stuck again...
Offers?
- Thanks, Mr Strauss!

Why oh why would you want to reach 100fps? I don't see any difference in visual quality between 60 and 100fps.
I think I recall reading somewhere that refresh rate will limit the fps. So, what is your refresh rate set for that particular resolution?
That is what I think was once said.. If I'm wrong, someone will surely correct me.

Hmm
XP Pro has some kinda refresh rate block or something that only lets it be at a rate of 60hz unless otherwise.. I think they might have fixed this but Nots sure.. you might check into this..

Some cards just require vertical synchronization to work properly.
The refresh rate has been set to 60MHz for directdraw, but I don't know if it's applicaple to opengl.
You can change it by running 'dxdiag', browsing to more help and clicking override direcdraw refresh rates.

You mean that your computer freezes when you say it is stuck?
If so, it could be different reasons butg first let me ask this:
Does this happen with every other game?
Does this happen only with OpenGL games?
If it happens with every other game, it could be cooling issues (maybe your case it's too hot, or the CPU is getting too hot, etc..).
If it only happens with OpenGL games, try to update the Catalyst drivers from ATi.!
