Kids Monitor advice needed

When shopping for monitors they always give you a number like .27mm or .26mm or .25mm. Is the smaller the number the better the monitor?

Also, if you you could purchase a CRT with a regular screen[not flat] with better refresh rates and a smaller # [.24mm for instance], is it wiser to get the regular screen one than a flat one with worse refresh rates and a higher #[.27mm] for the same price?

For a monitor .. the dpi (dots per inch size) the smaller the better and the higher the frequency the monitor can do the better.

As for the flat vs. reg. screen.. I would opt for for the reg. screen with a higher refresh and a lower Dpi... .25 or lower is a good place to start.

**double post** Mod if you see this, could you remove the doubles. Something happened - don't know what.

Thanks for facts and the opinion Sixpac_XP. The reason I ask about the Flat versus Regular screen is: it is hard to get a good comparison in-store because they only usually have Flat screens set up as demos.
