turbotax deluxe 2002 won't run on os 8.6

I've tried working with turbotax (intuit's) online agents to get my software running, but nothing has worked, including a replacement CD. All my other programs, including past years versions of macintax and turbotax work fine.
Any ideas? I'm stuck with this program as I import the previous years info into each current year. -thanx

Is this brand new software? or did you buy secondhand? Have you installed this on another computer? The reasons I ask is that the 2002 TTax has antipiracy software that may be preventing you from using it.

I bought this Macintosh version directly from Intuit. I have not tried to install it on another computer yet.

can you give some more details... like, what happens when you try to install it? does the installer run? do you have a folder for turbo tax in your apps folder in the finder?

i'm not a certified macintosh expert, as i doubt many here are either, but we will certainly try to help you as much as we can

I've not tried the apps folder install which is the default the installer uses. I'll try that. I was specifying my own folder to use. The installer installs fine, at least it completes the process to where I can begin using my computer to successfully open every program except Turbotax (2002 ver., previous years all work correctly). When I click on the icon to begin the program, I see the initail splash screen for the program, then it disappears and the menu for Turbotax appears, starting with 'Help' first and only, then the others slide in. I've successfully started the program once by chance somehow by clicking as quickly as I can on the first word of the menu and scrolling down somehow and clicking on one of the words there. Not sure how I did it, cause I haven't been able to get it started again. When I did get it started, I was in the interview portion and successfully downloaded my free state download. Then when that installer tried to start the whole program froze. I'll keep checking here and posting any progress here. I'll also try the macosx.com site. Thank you for trying to help me.

hmm... sounds like the mac is pukin on the program and bombing. kinda suprised you don't get a lil bomb message, even if they make no sense, whatsoever.

I saw a type 8 and a type 3 at some point in the many tries to get it to run. I've tried to reconfigure the memory alotted the program, up and down in size.
