DirectX 9.0b

So what's the word? Any better than 9.0a? More compatable?

I'm going to install it on a couple of machines and see if it's OK.

So far, so good. I installed it on a machine that 9.0a borked and forced me into a system restore with, and it works fine. It also is running fine on another system the 9.0a was working properly with.

I'll probably install it on a couple of other boxes, and maybe a laptop.

I'm finally able to use my ATI TV-Wonder PCI with Windows XP properly! (somewhat related story, app requires DX9)

I'll run a 3DMark 2K1 on one, just to see any before/after differences.

Installed it yesterday and so far no problems plus it seems to have cleared up a few minor glitches I had before.

It's working fine for me. I had to install it to get Tron 2.0 working (a very disappointing demo if you ask me).

Installed today too, No new problems.

Fixed a bug with Starfleet Command III, game would not play in DX9.0a, kept telling me DX8 was not installed.

Is that DX related security patch inclueded in 9.0b? I d/l it (the patch) before so I just wondered.

Installed it. No major problems here. No real boost either. Just another version IMO.

I installed DirectX 9.0b before attempting to get the DirectX security patch from Windows Update and the security patch is no longer offered for my machine so it appears the security patch is included.
