Dead MOBO???????

I have a ASUS A7V-VM Mobo, and all of a sudden at the system check screen (hard drives ram etc) it shut off, now i get nothing no fan spinning not a thing, has my mobo just died on me?

i left the battery out over night but still no joy?

Check to see if your PSU is still good. Rule that out first.

Ooops, i forgot to say i did try a different (working) PSU!!

Might be overheating components?

Possibly something shorting the board?

take all of the cards out except for RAM and video.

I used to see computers that seemed totally dead, no lights, no fan...but it would be because of a shorted modem or something similar...and when I would take the cards out it would boot ok.

I think it is dead,

I took everything out, took the mobo out of the case and tried it like that, i get a slight spin from the cpu fan, then that's it, i think it's time for the rubbish tip.

Try it with the cpu out but leave the fan plugged in.

I just put the CPU back in and it still works..........thanks very much mate, why did it do that???
