microphone wont work

ok guys i was doing some windows tweaking awhile back and i just now noticed my mic dont work......wehn i goto control panel sounds and voice the advance options are not highlited and now im thinking that i did something to disable the service......does anyone know where or how i can check this to see if thats my problem??? any help here would be welcomed

i went into all sorts of stuff but mainly services and the hlkey-stuff in the reg

Was it working before. What version of windows are you running? Open up your volume control (double click the speaker icon in the task bar) and make sure ur mic is not muted and the mic volume is up.

i did all that im sure it was something i did in my registrie but icant remeber how to get back to it

Have you treid to use System Restore to undo what you changed??

i turned it off to like the tweak told me to do i turned off a bunch of stuff like when you delete stuff it dont even goto my recycle bin stuff like that if i know where it was i know i could fix it i was aslo in the hl key windows files stuff like that
