Heat Problems!

I just got a 2600+ and a A7n8x DX. And put a volcano 11+( it was cheap. Now I am getting temps of like 150. When it's on full!!!. I am prity sure it has ample thermal paste. Whats happening.My 2000+ maxed out at like 109. In this case. HELP

How much thermal paste did you use? What brand did you use? Maybe the heatsink isn't mounted properly therefore not making good contact with the core.

KEEP IT THIN

You don't want AMPLE.. you want thin so it conducts the heat correctly to the HSF. Too much and its more of a insulator than a conductor.

I used the stuff that came with it(aka crap) I am not going to go out and buy some as3 anytime soon. I will lookto see how much I used. The first time I tryed it it was running at 176f. Then I adeed thermal paste and it went down maybe too much chip dip.

yes maybe you used too much and check the seating

where are you getting these reading from?? BIOS, 3rd party app?

Ya I was just thinking that it could be the app. I used the BIOS to get those readings. It wouldent boot windows with my new mobo so I reinstalled. Installed Probe its the asus app and it said 122. And now the bios reads about the same. The problem is what kind of temps should I be getting?. That is with the fan on full.

122F = 50C

not bad you could run cooler

you do have intake and exhuast fan right?
theheat sink fan plugged into the mobo? fan speed should increase wth cpu usage.

you can run in the low 40C (104F-118F ) AMD tends to run warm
