At Home How to edit boot up screen on WIn XP?

When i boot up or turn on my computer, while Win XP Pro is loading, the creen seems like 256 colors or streched out, i dont like it.. how can i have to true color or may be to have a different picture if i choose to? any advice? and i am not talking about the LOG on and off screens... Boot up screen

Well, you're not going to get more than 256 colors. I believe that's intentional for purposes of being compatable with most all video cards no matter how old or obsolete.

Plus when Windows is loading at that stage it hasn't yet loaded any of your video drivers so it doesn't know what the video card can handle.

But I do believe you can change the image to something else more of your liking. Have you searched the forums here for this topic? I know it's been dicussed in numerous threads over the ages.
