KSC-50's beat up
I took my KSC-50's and my MZ-S1 with me on my 1 week stay away band camp at West Chester University and they've incurred some damage. The drivers are fine although the left earphone still rattles when bass is present (started a while back). Anyway, the left earphone's spring mechanism is shot. The spring is working fine, but the two little tabs that keep it from rotating too far back and too far forward are dead, so they rotate all the way back, pinching my ears. I thought they were bent before, but it turns out it's the mechanism. Is it possible to remove the spring and have them stay in place permanently? I could deal with that. Also, the tabs on the right earphone also show some wear and tear. Any suggestions? I really like these. BTW I don't want to send them back to Koss because I not only have to ship them there, but I have to send money for them to ship new ones back. It works out to being about as much as buying new ones.
