Hi all, I've just bought a new computer 2800 processer 512 2700 memory, 256 in 2 slots. The memory is dual channel access. Is this memory better than the nomal kind? I've 3 slots and it says in the manual that it is best to use 1 and 3 or 2 and 3 slots. Do I have to have the same memory in each 2 slots or can I mix them and use all 3 with different amounts in each slot? Will it inprove performance using all 3 slots?

What do you mean when you say "normal kind", what is normal? You do not need to use the same memory for 2 or more of the slots but it works best if you do.

Do you mean having dual channel on 3 modules?
