is this 3d mark good for my system?

hey i just dled 3d mark 2003 and ran it and i got 916 3d marks? is this good?

system specs:

p4 1.7 @1.87 ghz
asus p4t-e mobo
256 mb RDRAM
asus geforce fx 5200 128mb ddr
sb live 5.1
40 gb maxtor 7200 rpm.

Isn't there an option to upload your score and compare it with everybody else's online?

yeah i compared it and i think it should be around 1500 or higher. why is it this low?

That's low.

It's probably your video card. I have almost the exact same setup as you on one of my machines...with the exception that it's a 1.4GHz P4 overclocked to 1.6 GHz with an ATI 9500 pro overclocked also...same mobo, ram, sound card, etc...and I get right around 3000 or so.

You are running the 2003 Version of the benchmarking program. This one does the bechmarking of DX 9.0 video cards (yours supports DX 9.0) but because the test is very advanced for the card you will get a relativly low score.

It is best to run 2001 SE version as this is more comparable to other systems that have been tested.

Biostar kt400 pro with the old 1.4 athlon oc'd to 1.54
Geforce 2 ti 64mb
1 256m/b stick of kingstons 333mhz ddr ram
60 gig Western Dig ata100 hard drive
Onboard audio

Old parts in there excpet the mobo which can hold the new 3200+xp.

You got 300 mhzs over my comp and I'm sure the fx 5200 out performs my geforce 2 ti. Only thing I see is my ram running at 333mhz but that wouldnt make up the advantage in cpu speed you have over me.

Your system should out perform mine, so I'm guess you can make some configuration changes.

Are you running the test with your display settings on max performance?
