Power Supply issues

I just blow out my old 300watt power supply for my 1.4 athlon and replaced it with my 350watt power supply from my Pent 4 2.8.

I am trying to find info on power supplies to read up on them and learn alittle more about them.

If you know of any good review web site on power supplies please send a link.

I would also appreciate any input on what kind of power supply I can get that is of quaility but with out going over the edge price wise. I was looking at the Antec 350watt blue lite for $65.00. Anyone got any info about that?

I have a pent 4 2.8 with radeon 9700pro ata 133 maxtor, dvd player and cdrw.

Thanks guys..

Antec?

Get an Allied PSU, they are cheaper and much more reliable.

I second that!
Antec is very nice, but I have NEVER had a problem with any Allied power supplies that I've used.

I have an Allied 450W PSU, and have never had a problem with it.

Here's the link to a 350W Allied PSU, which I believe is what you were looking for:

http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduc...on=allied+350w

Only $21.00 from NewEgg.

tomshardware.com has a great power supply requirement article-don't have link, but you will be able to find it easy-fyi, the abit-usa.com forums seem to like the antec 550 watt which should be able to eliminate any possible ps issues-it solved mine.

Hmm

OK 1st off, thanks for the input.

I am a little concerned about a power supply that only cost $30 at 350 or 400 watts.

I figured I'd have to pay a good $80 to get something good. Here’s what I found:

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...tby=14&order=1

The Antec Tru380 watt PSU for $70.00 and it has THG's best performance rating and recommendation as well as PC Magazines recommendation.

I dont think Allied is on the same level as this Antec. If i had a basic sysytem I'm sure the Allied would be great but I have all high end items in this system.

forget antec, allied is the way to go ive got an Allied 350 that has been in and out of machines for about 3 or 4 years now and ive NEVER had any problems. Allied gets my vote.
