Kids What are the options of VIVO?

Hi everybody,

I just got an ASUS 9520 VS VIVO card, so what are the capabilities of the TV in?
I mean what software is best to use, what can I capture...etc.
Can I record movies from VHS? And how?

If anybody has experience with such VGA, please write it .

Thanx alot!

The easiest and 'will-work-for-sure' program to use is the asus live or asus digital vcr.

You can capture with any program that uses vfw. (virtualdub, premiere etc.)

You can record from vhs, and you can record from dvd.

I had my setup hooked so that aerial went to the vcr, and from there I had scart->composite adapter which went to the vivo plugins of my card. I watched tv and vcr at that time from it.

Muno, what kind of video quality did you get with that, and how big of a screen are we talking? Full screen? I'd like to consider a VIVO card so I can play my PS2 thru my monitor ( so I don't have to fight for the TV )

Playing? Full screen with amd k6-II 333MHz and Asus TNT1.
(edit: 704x576 size fullscreened)

Capturing? 352x240/25fps with the above setup. Anything above resulted dropped frames.

Mind that I had old computer and graphics adapter at that time.

The quality was good, but 'quality' is a subjective issue just like sound.

Thanx, as I understood if I connect the VCR or DVD to the composite jack of the VIVO adapter and if I have Virtual Dub (I have it, but I used it to convert AVI to MPEG - VCD) I can record directly from VCR to Hard drive. I akso have to connect the sound to my sound in jack...
Do you have some description or know how for the settings of VDub, or is there some tips and tricks, except the picture size and 25fps(PAL)

Thanx again

Sure, in virtualdub you click 'file->capture avi'
From there you can capture to whatever format you choose and whatever settings you choose.

I'd recommend capturing to either xvid or divx.
Yes, you need to connect the audio jack to your soundcard (the audio jack has to come from the scart-out of the vcr)
