External TV Tuner, I can't decide!
I just bought a notebook and I have been looking into external tv tuners.
I had typed a long post, but I managed to hit the back button so I'm just going to cut to the chase on this second draft...
What I have found out- BAD
USB 1 or 1.1 GOOD
Firewire (if I could ever find one)
USB 2?
MPEG 2
What I will do with it/want:
-tv tuner
-tv quality. I read somewhere that the older USB 1 tv tuners had a mere 30 fps should I expect that even with a USB 2 or firewire tv tuner?
-remote!!!
-recorder (the better the quality the happier I am. I have a DVD+RW so that' snot a problem. Some convenient software would also be nice)
-multiple inputs beyond the coax - Video imput, audio inpu, S-Video input?, Radio?
-good looking (I realize this is trivial and if someone suggests the ugliest peice of crap that does everything I want for an amazing price I'll get it, but if it looks good at the same time I'm that much happier)
-price (I have seen most them under 200, but I'd really like to stay under 350, but please don't hesitate to mention one if it's more, I'll look into it)
Here is what I have looked at so far
-Pinnacle PCTV Deluxe (this one got me started while I was building notebooks on gateways sight)
-Snazzi* III USB2 (this one bothers me because of the software, it seems so thrown together, all different companies and such)
-DEC 2000-t (does this work in america? i'm stupid)
-Adaptec VideOh! DVD Media Center USB 2.0 (read one review where it was better than the PCTV Deluxe) HELP ME! |
