corel and photoshop file compatibilty

I created a design with photoshop elements and I have a friend who uses corelDRAW. She needed me to save it in .TIF format so we could preserve the layer associations so she could edit it in Corel if need be. We did all that and she still cannot edit the Design. We have tried just about everything we can do.

So here's my question. If I E-mail her my original photoshop file (.psd) would Corel be able to convert/open it and she could edit it that way. I would think not, but we are trying to save her having to re-create the whole design just because she uses corel.

Thanks,

Gary

Would recommend, rather than sending the PSD file, that you save the file out as EPS and send that.

Depending on the version of Corel your g/f is using, I believe I'm right in thinking that Corel can work with EPS as native files......

Best of Luck

Geo.

Yeah, we tried doing EPS formats but it won't save the layer information data. It rasterizes the whole design so that when you open it up next time no information data about the layers are there.

Also not a g/f, just a friend. she's like twice my age You have any other suggestions though....I haven't heard from her but I'm guessing she has or is in the process of just re-creating it. It wasn't a hard design but I was just trying to save her an hour or so of work.

*Welcome to Techimo BTW*

Thanks,

Gary
