Downloading images with Netscape/Mozilla

Okay, since Netscape 7.1 was released everytime I try to click on a picture link, my download manager pops up and asks me what to do with the file. Under 7.0 the pic would just automatically load into a new browser window. Having the same issue with mozilla and I can't for the life of me find the setting to change this.

Anybody else notice this? And have the solution??

Dale

I get that too.... "Mozilla firebird does not know what to do with this image file (JPEG)." then it has 3 radio buttons. "open with default application, pick a program, or save to disk" I tried putting in mozillafirebird as a sepcific application, and then i unchecked the box that said "ask what to do every time" but it still always comes up. So i guess i have the same problem. Sorry that I dont have a solutioin =(

Oh and the weird thing is, when it does come up in the mozilla firebird window after i specifcy it in the above application choice, in the URL it says like. "image.jpg.jpeg" instead of just .jpeg

yeah I use firebird too. And even if you select mozilla you get an extra blank page. Grrrrr.

Anybody got a solution?

youc can try the forums section over at http://www.mozillazine.org/ or there might be something about it at the mozilla site

I'm guess you guys want these to open with netscape? if not you can go to edit>prefferences>navigator> helper applications > it allows for you to change the settings there
