GeForce3 Ti200 and DVDs

My dad has been trying to play DVDs on his computer but he keeps on getting this weird error message saying that the DVD can not be played with TV Out enabled on the graphics card. He Has a GeForce3 Ti200 and a standard run of the mill TDK DVD-ROM drive. He is running Win XP Pro has all the latest updates and drivers.

I've tried playing the DVDs through WinDVD, Roxio's DVD Player and Win Media Player 9. No luck. I can't find a button anywhere to disable the TV-Out option on the card and can't find any help on NVIDIAs or MSs website. If anyone could help that would be great.

I'm guessing its a reg entry or a jumper on the board but I dont know which one. BTW the card was made by PNY. Thanks again for your help.

I had the same card and the same issues the only way that I got rid of it was to buy a new card. I did read somewhere that that type of card sometimes had a chipset on it that would incorrectly report that the TV out was enabled.

I know some programs out there have updates that fix this problem, but not sure what software it is for. Might want to try updating the software if you already have not.

I have seen this problem on many forms but have not seen a solution for it yet that is know to work 100% of the time.
