DFI LanParty NF2 Ultra

I just got one of these recently along with everything else a computer needs including an AMD Athlon XP 2500+ Barton. I know my board defaults the processor at 1900+ and I was wondering how I get it to the 2500+ level. I think you change the FSB on the BIOS up, but I don't know where I should set it at. I don't want to burn up my CPU already.

Your manual should tell you how to do that. There's probably both a BIOS setting and a jumper on the motherboard to set the 166mhz system bus (it's defaulting to 133mhz bus)

Read the manual thoroughly, it answers a lot of questions you may have not even asked yet

Well, since I have one, I may be able to help you out!!!

You do need to change your BIOS settings. Make sure the jumper near your cpu is ON, if it is not the board will stay at 100mhz.
You need to go to the upper right selection that says Genie BIOS settings or something similar, and set your FSB to 166MHZ, I believe your BARTON runs at 333mhz ddr for the bus, does it not?
Save settings, and you should be ready to go!

I just go into computer building. but I know how to change it to 166 mhz but I'm not exactly sure about jumpers. Actually I don't really know what they are.

I'm looking into the manual on their site now...it's loading very slow though

It looks like (from the TOC) you'll need to check out page 23 to see the jumper you need to change.

Jumpers are little connectors on your motherbaord that connect two or more pins togeather. On your board I think they are red. they pull off and on. You shouldn't have to worry about the jumpers though to get it that fast. It comes with it hooked on I believe.

Page 21 is about the Wake-on-LAN Connector so I don't think that is it.

Well I put 21 and had to edit it to page 23...that took a while though because this site is slow too

Online it showed it as the clear CMOS jumper though...hmm

Maybe someone with the board and manual in hand can help you out better.

IS it called CPU's Front Side Bus Select? It says J29 next to it and has some pictures showing On and Off. ON has a sqaure on 1 and line connecting it to 2. Off has just on square on 1.

Oh I see the the redish brown jumper and it is covering both of the pins. I guess I'll change the FSB to 166mhz. Thanks for your help.
