I have a 2 computer network but I have been unable to share the printer. Have any of you used an AB switch to transfer the printer from one to the other.

Thanks for your reply. It would be great if I could share the printer. I have gone into previous threads but I still can't seem to get what I want. I sometimes don't reply very fast because my wife is very ill and needs my help, so I have to delay following through. Please be patient with me.

Hi Telexen
I have taken this to computer 2 and when it says add printer I follow until it says specify the network path of the printer you want to use and when I browse I can't find anything that will help.

hopefully while you are helping seanmark2 you can help me also... I have been having the same problem ever since I had to reformat my main PC in which the Printer is connected to. Now my second PC doesn't print of the shared printer nor do they see each other on the network anymore. Both systems using XP. The printer is hooked up to my computer and shared. I can't get my girlfriends pc to see the printer nor see my PC anymore.
PC 1: USB Lexmark Printer (SHARED) , PC run into Router.
PC 2: run into Router but not shown on local network.
Both can connect to the internet just fine through Router.
Sweeper- Are both rigs in the same Workgroup? [to see each other]
Do you have permission to access the computer with the printer? [give user name access via admin tools/users?] <- cant remember exactly where in XP, but you need permission to enter
Well if you are using those AB switches then you don't need to install it as a network printer. Just set it up as a local printer on both PCs and it should work. You don't need to enable sharing.
