Kids Rebuilding Older computer

I'm replacing an old K-6-2 motherbd( 500 mhz ) an with a Duron 1.3 and Mbd. When innstalling the heat sink, how much thermal paste is needed for good heat transfer from the processor to the heatsink. Any more or less than the K-6 units ????? Thanks..

I asume yer not gonna use a K6-2 heatsink for that Duron??

Ya only need to apply a thin layer on the core, or else it'll work as an insulator rather then what it is meant to do.

If nothing is in the way, use a knife to spread the thermal paste on the die of the CPU. If you get some on the outer processor, use a paper towel (NOT TISSUES) to wipe it up. Tissues can leave fragments of paper stuck in your thermal paste.
