How can I take part of an MP3 file and change it into .wav form?

Is this even possible?

All you need is a decoder. Many apps do this. Most audio editing apps do this.

Not directly... you'd have to convert the whole thing to wav first, load it up in a 2-track editor (Sound Forge, CoolEdit, etc.) then edit out the parts you don't want (and keep the part you do).

I can't think of any atm but there are several freeware editors around... you may want to try Tucows.

Doh! Forgot all about MP3Trim and I have it installed, lol. I've only ever used it for correcting bad last frames so I forgot it can also directly edit an MP3.

Nero usually comes with a pretty cool audio editing software program called appropriatly "Nero Wave Editor" It will open MP3 files as well. You can edit/cut/paste/whatever and you can save them in whatever format you would like. I have used the program several times to mix some tunes and it has always worked out great.

Good luck,

Gary
