Welcome to TechIMO, Crix.
Yeah, we need more details. Hoiw is your network set up? If you only have a hub or switch, then you need to share the internet connection via software. If you have a router, everyone should be able to get on, but you may need to point their PC's to your router (gateway).
We'll provide more detail when you post back with your setup.
Cheers
Mick

Ok, it's probably easiest to run the evil windoze XP networking wizard. It should allow you to share a connection via winICS with 2k. Just run the wizard on your PC (with the internet and the other PC connected), then make the floppy disk needed and run it on the 2k computer whilst everything is connected. Should work.
Try looking at Helmig's webpage on ICS for XP Home and seeing if that helps if you have any trouble.
Cheers

Not sure what you mean. Where did it say that - when you tried to connect from your friend's PC? Or from yours?
How does the cable modem connect to your PC? By USB? Or do you have two network cards?
I assume the network is set up, as you said you could play LAN games. So it's just the connection you are trying to share, correct?
Sorry for the questions, but I'm not sure where you are at.
Cheers
Mick

when i ran ipconfig at command prompt, everything was fine except the "media state: cable modem disconnected" line
the modem is connected by usb, and our pcs are connected by ethernet/crossover cable. the network is also working still, i just double checked
and yes, im trying to share the internet between the two |
