spontaneous reboot... voltage issues
AMD XP 1800+
EPoX 8KHA+
Win XP
My normally rock solid system just rebooted itself while browsing the web. No warning.
It hung for a bit on the reboot at the desktop.
My mobo monitor is reporting the following...
Core 0: 1.74V
Core 1: 1.50V
+3.3: 3.25V
+5.0: 4.81V
+12: 12.10V
-12: 2.64V
-5.0: 0.00V
Do these look right? I know very little about proper system voltages. Temps were 48C, 30C

what the power supply . alot of the times rebooting is a power supply dieing issue . least it has been that way for me when it happened . can you switch it out to test it and see if that stops the problem . also i don't get the core 0 and core 1 thing . and 0 on the -5v ?

Core 0 looks right, Idunno about Core 1. Idunno about that -5V either. Everything else looks good though. Of course it could be an intermittant problem, and those are the hardest to diagnose. I would agree, try a good quality PSU first. Next, I would try a battery back-up. That'll help "smooth out" the power coming in.
