laptop question.

Just a quick question.
I`m looking for a lptop for my brother. He basically will use it for Spreadseets along with some very minor photoshop work.

He is a researcher Biologist, to give you an idea with what he is working.

Would a Celeron based lappy (toshiba) be a good idea? even if it has 128K of cache....?

We use Compaqs and Toshibas at work. The Toshibas (Celerons) have done very well. The Compaqs (also Celerons)have been a lot of trouble.

We do a lot of Office apps and printer diagnostics with them but no Photo Shop.

Hope this helps.

Mike

I have a Toshiba Satelite 1405s series and it handles all my needs. Mainly spreadsheets, word, accounting, and other stuff.
It would suit his needs nicely.

i personally perfer the toshibas over the other laptops because i find them to be good performers.

If you can find a good deal on a Compaq M700 600mhz PIII or better, they are great machines. Very durable and can usually be found reasonably priced.
