BOOT PROBLEM: ASUS P4P800-VM / P-IV: 1,8GHz, 400MHz, 512Kb / 512MB DDR PC3200 400MHz
I put together all newly purchased motherboard / memory / processor / hd / etc and it won't boot up, not from floppy disk, nor from CD-ROM drive. It just says put in the right boot disk and press any key or reboot and choose the right boot drive, or something like that. I tried different things but nothing seems to work.
Could it be because of the processor FSB (400MHz) and memory frequency conflict? My memory is 400 MHz, but to fit the processor FSB it should be 266 MHz. The motherboard itself lowered the momory's frequency down to 266 (it shows 266 in bios) but could it still be the conflict between memory and processor that doesnt let the system to boot?
Thank you in advance for help...
