Cable rating

With ethernet cable, do I need to be concerned with the MHz rating (i.e. 350 MHz) if I am using a wired network?

What's there to be concerned about? Your network probably uses 350mhz (Cat5e) .. even if the short link from your modem to a machine/router is 100mhz ... it's still faster than you'll ever be able to download/upload with the modem.

Only for very long distances. There will be less signal attentuation with higher rated cables. However, with a typical household application, e.g., 100-300 feet, this is not a problem. Cat 5 is rated up to 100 MHz, which is more than adequate for most use. So there is no need to pay a premium for over-rated cable.
