Do you think Valve is going to release a Half-Life 2 Demo? I'm pretty sure they will release a demo AFTER the game is released to try and increase sales, but I am talking about BEFORE the game is released.

It would definaltey give MORE people insentive to buy it, but it would let us realize how crappy our computers are before we buy the game. I don't know about other people, but when HL2 comes out, if I can't play it @ 1280x1024 x 32 with 60+ FPS, then I am buying a new video card that will, regardless or price, just because I love HL that much.

I'm sure Nvidia (or ATI) will relealize people like me are doing this and put out their next video card right next to the release of HL2 and Doom3.

The perfect BEFORE-Release HL2 demo would be that huge room they show in the E3 movie. Where it had the falling barrels, and the pool in the middle. Just give the player the gravity gun and let them play around in the room. It wouldn't give any of the story away, it would let us see the engine, and (most importantly) it would be FUN.

Maybe someone from valve will read this, and they will make me a happy man.

Thanks 4 reading.

I would also like to get the demo of HL 2. It would be fun to try out some of the weapons like the gravity gun

The problem is, if you want the great graphics and scenery/sound.. with a 100 meg download you might get 5-10 minutes of gameplay

that is what I was saying. Only give of a tiny bit of the game. I thought the big enclosed area with the pool would be great. It was small, but showed a lot of what the game could do.

Why not just buy it. Everyone knows it will be an awesome game. I'm sure it will run on older systems as well. As long as you have a decent vid card.
