Has anyone had any trouble with their K7S5A PRO? I keep getting the message: CMOS settings wrong & CMOS memory wrong size. Then it says: press F1 to enter setup or press F2 to load defaults. The trouble is, I get no power the the keyboard. I have tried two different k/b's and two different (known to work) memory types. I also have a NEW AMD 1800+ CPU and, by the way, the mobo is brand new as well. I have tried to reset the CMOS with the jumper and removing the battery too. Nothing seems to work. Has anyone heard of this before? Any ideas?

What type of keyboard are you using is it a P/S or USB? I never heard of keyboards having problems with this board. Thus I know the ECS K7S5A Pro does have PSU and Ram compatibility issues. I own this board aswell. And thus far its been great to me. What Memory are you using? How many watts is your PSU? How much MB of Ram you putting in?

If the legacy keyboard doesn't get power (LEDs not even flashing once when powering up), you might have blown the keyboard fuse on the mainboard. Does a PS/2 optical mouse light up?

I am using a p/s keyboard. Both of my k/b's are p/s2. They will work on my back up computer but not on the new k7s5a pro. I am using a 400 watt p/s. It does try to boot, I do get info on the screen such as CPU info and memory info and also detecting the drives in my system etc. but then it stops at the error messages.

oh yeah, I am using an optical mouse and that does not get any power either.....but that could be because it has not been installed yet. I am using a different HDD with XP pro. Yes, I have tried the already working HDD with 2000 pro on it and I still have the same troubles.

What do you mean, not installed? Is it plugged in? If so, then there should be power to it. The operating system and its drivers are nothing to do with these devices' general workingness.

K7S5A Pro

I agree with you, there should be power to the K/B and the mouse. I am about 99% sure it's a bad Mobo. I have had one before but it was the regular version (K7S5A) and it worked really great until the P/S went out and took my mobo and cpu with it. By the way, does anyone know how to overclock this board (PRO Version) or is it even possible?

cheepoman has an oc'able bios over here at ocworkbench http://www.ocworkbench.com/2002/ecs/...cheepobios.htm it allows for better oc abilities and I've used it for months now with no issues. It allows for small fsb steppings from 133 up in minor increments
