cd rom drive not detected

I had to change the battery on my motherboard. I rebooted Windows and now my cds do not play. I looked in my computer to start cd from there and the E: drive was gone. I an using Windows ME. Can anyone tell me how I can resolve this problem?

You will have to go into your BIOS and detect and configure the drive there. Likely what happened is by changing the battery the BIOS went to default and your BIOS did not enable the CD by default.
