PSU with new cpus and mobos???
I have an older 400 Watt PSU Would i be able to use this for the new athlon 3000 CPUs? (i just remember when i bought it some said Athlon compatible and some said Pentium compatible)

how old are we talking? since its a 400 watt power supply i dont think there will be any issues on your board

i don't think that athlon compatible/pentium compatible will be a problem. my new setup is with an athlon, but the psu says P4 on the side. but then again it's only been running for less than a week now.

At 400watts it should be okay. If it has all the proper motherboard connectors then it should work. You could probably double check by going to the manufacturers website.

All p4 means is ther is an extra connecter. The only AMD boards that use that are dual. If its atx and powerfulenough there is no reason it should not work.

Don't bother get an Antec TruePower 430 or 480.
And no not all 400 watt PSU's are the same.I don't care what anyone thinks about that. I got a 400 watt P.O.S. underneath my bed holding one end up! LOL
