For the etched look just get one of those sticker things. They look great.

Finished! I'm very pleased with the way it turned out, now for that ccfl to show it off even more. As soon as I get a halfway decent digicam, I'll post pictures of the entire project. The dremel wasn't bad at all, I used a straightedge to do the straight lines and freehanded all of the curves, but it looks great. I even kept it inside the lines (my mommy would be so proud!).

Glad to hear your project was a success. It figures that the acid wouldn't etch plastic. We used to use acid in the military, and it came in plastic jugs. So, obviously, it wouldn't have any effect on Plexi. As for the CCFL, many red ones actually look pink. You may want to try LED's instead. The few times that I've made cases with red lights, I used LED's. If you simply glue the window to the inside of the case, you can position single LED's around the edges of the window facing in. That way, the Plexi will act like fiber optics, and the etch will glow nicely.

Do they have any LEDs that come pre-wired in a chain w/ a molex connector, or do I have to do it myself?

Not that I'm aware of, but it's easy to do. Take a look at my site for some tips on it. If you have any other questions, just post back here.
