Overclock noob!

Hi!

I want to safely over clock my P4 2.4 but not sure what to do. Heres my system...

-P4 2.4 800fsb
-Gigabyte GA-8IG1000 Pro ,800 fsb, duel bios/channles mobo
-512ddr 400 (2x256)
-Geforce 4 ti 4200

Do I need to change anything physically? Or is all the work done in the bios? I would like to get it upto 3.0 mhz safely

Thanks
ed

I dont really think its the bios its the voltage. U probably need better cooling. I never OCed in my life im just sharing what i kno. Alot of people has OCed their 2.4 C to 3.0GHz with no harm. A guy from [H] made it to 3.6 GHz with a farly stable system. Ask someone for the voltage set to get that much power and ull be allset. Also asked for what kinda cooling were they using etc.

Well, going up to 3.0 mhz is fine with me! I just want to know what to turn up and by how much. I want to do this on the stock fans if possible.

Does it have the Easytune feature?
Try playing around with it:

Click thru the use tab in the upper left corner...

ahh, cool!!!

Im running the Easytuner4 now. Im getting a warning cause my fans are only running at about 2700-3000 rpms.

So I just turn up the bus limit on newbie mode? Im going to read up on it now...

Thanks!!!!
