DOS question

I'm weak on my DOS commands.
When I go into a directory and there are more files etc than can be shown on the screen, how do I scroll up and down thru the directory so I can view everything?
Thanks

dir /p

the /p switch will allow you to page down one screen at a time by using either the space key or the page down key. If i remember correctly both work. Can't page up tho.

by scrolling, do u mean the window size?
if u increase the 'height' of the command-prompt window u will be able to scroll...
right click on the titlebar, click 'properties', change(increase) the screenbuffer height in the 'layout' tab

might not be what u were after tho

Yes, enter the properties of the command window, select 'layout' (or whatever it is in english version) and increase the size of vertical buffer.

I have set the buffer to 300 so I can see what I've done earlier.

nishark: my window is already full screen size. Not sure what you mean tho. By scrolling I mean that the directory in question has over 100 files in it and when I type in dir and press enter it goes to the dir and the files flash by in a second, too fast to read and just the last dozen or so are visible when it is done. I want to be able to scroll back up and view all the files or page down thru the files.

I think the /p switch will work
Thanks all for your help
