Try to right click on the file and delete it that way. Or just drag it over the recycle bin.

It fixes the problem I have sometimes.

Make sure the program RealOne isn't using the file. If neccissary, terminate the process with ctrl+alt+del(if you use windows XP). You still may be able to do it in win98, see if the program is listed in the menu.

In my experience you can go CTR_ALT_DEL and shut down anything that is running that could possibly be using it or reboot and while system processes are still loading delete the file.

Has worked for me in the past.

Maybe if you used Safe Mode you can delete it there.

Kids Did you try renaming the file?

Sometimes you can change the extension to ".bak" or such, then delete it.

Follow these instructions step by step and it should go away...

First, is everything in the folder with the file a non-system file if so follow these instructions.

(1) Create a back-up folder with every file in it except the one you want to delete.

(2) Move the old folder with the offending file to the root directory of a hard drive

(3) Delete the folder

(4) Rename the back-up folder to the name of the orignal folder

If this works the problem with the file is that the file name is too long and invalid.

Depending on the OS/file system you could boot to a floppy and delete via DOS.
