Can't install XP

Ok, I am repairing a PC for somebody... lightning strike or surge...

I replaced the motherboard, power supply and memory..

I tried to install XP on it again but as soon as it gets to the "welcome to setup" screen where you hit enter to install or R to repair.... it locks up...

I have flashed to the newest BIOS, no luck... Also tried disabling most of the on board stuff on the MB. still no luck..

HDD tests out fine. CD seems to be working properly

Its a Biostar M7VKQ MB, 256m ram. HP CD writer..

Could the processor have a small glitch in it since it was in an electrical surge???

I don't know if you can make a set of boot disk like you can with win2kpro or not but if so you might give that a shot. Basicly it loads all of the setup part then the cd takes over for the info files.

MDS, just an FYI you can go to bootdisk.com and download a 6 disk bootdisk set for each of the various versions of XP.
