Kids IBM Trackpoint problem

Is it possible to replace the pointing stick in a laptop ... (IBM calls it the "Trackpoint"). One day it just stopped working. I've been using a usb mouse ever since. It's nothing to do with the drivers, not the little red ball. I've figured out that it's the actual stick itself. Just wondering if anyone has ever does this and if so how .. thanks

TheChronoRogue is on a distinguished road
If its under warrenty you can probably call IBM up and have them repair it. Otherwise you can see if you can order the part from them. But be careful, ya dont want to wind up with a paperweight which tend to happen when u open a lappy up.
