Help with 9700 PRO performance

I just got my new retail ATI Radeon 9700 PRO and I was wondering about how it was performing. I got like a 12000 on 3D Mark 2001. In UT, I'm running it on 1280 1024 with everything maxed and I get an average of 55 FPS. Is that good? I mean the FPS vary from 44 to 77 in some areas and on some maps.

The real problem I have is with Splinter Cell! I can only get 30 FPS out of this power hog. I'm at 1024 768 with everything to high setting. Is this good as well?

I was just wondering if this card is performing as well as it should.

BTW, I'm running the card on 3.2 catalyst drivers because I'm having more performance increase with them than 3.6 ones. I got a higher score on Mark with 3.2 as well than with 3.6.

did you try looking at your video card settings?

Yes I have. I have hardware acceleration turned all the way up to high, and I do not have Anti-aliasing or Anisotropic filitering enabled. I'm not sure what other settings there are that would aide in performance increase. I could try moving the shaders from "Quality" to "Performance" and see what happenings.

If you move the slider setting from quality to performance, the games run faster at the expense of visual purity.
