case temps too high...and power problems

Okay, so I installed 3 new fans today, 2 in the front, 1 60mm in the back (that's all my case will hold), and my case temps jump about 4 degrees! (celsius) Whaaaa?? it hovers now around 40C, which is waaaay too high.

Additionally, how much leeway can I get on the 12v rail? I have a new psu coming, but as of right now, when running something like prime 95, the voltage will drop to 11.7-11.8, and i sometimes see my cpu core voltage drop with it. (not to mention the ram dropping from 2.8-2.6)

Any suggestions would be appreciated....my current setup of fans:

3 intake
2 on the side - exhaust
1 in the back - exhaust

I reversed the side fans...but now I have 5 intake a 1 small exhaust! But my case temps are down to around 35 now...should I leave it? It doesn't seem very balanced to me...

40c wasn't a bad temp to begin with. 35c is even better. Seems you have too many fans. One in the side blowing in and one on top sucking out would be all you need.

I always thought that case temps were supposed to be in the low 30s?

Interesting development though, my Windoctor software program says my case temps are around 35-37, but my digital doc probes are only reading around 30C! Which should I trust?

Software is getting readings from the motherborad...probes from digital doc won't ever take temperatures where they're really needed...don't trust those too much...they'll always be low.

You have way too many intakes and not enough exust fans.
Think about this, you have more then 5 times the ammount of air comming in, than you are able to take out. This is going to give you higher temps since the small 60 mm fan can not take the hot air out of the case fast enough.
Your 2 front intakes are fine, since they cool the HDD. You honestly do not need to 2 side intakes, one is more then enought, unless you are OCing your Vid card and one directly blows air on it, but even then it is not needed.
It would be good to upgrade that 60 to an 80 or even a 92mm.
Adding a blowhold to exhust would also help temps.

Be warend, some mobos, will provide different temps in the same case. For example I had a soyo dragon in my Noblesse case and it reported 28C system temps. Once I upgraded to a gigabyte my temps jumped to 37-40.

That's what I was thinking too, in regards to the ratio of intake / exhaust. The case I have came with 2 side fans already installed as exhaust, so I lef tthem. After putting everything in, my case temp jumped all the way to 39C, so out of curiosity I reversed the 2 side fans and it dropped 5 degrees
