I'm really starting to dislike my A7N8X Deluxe

It's a known issue with Asus that the CAS2 Corsair XMS PC3200 RAM won't run perfectly on this board. The problem is the board by default (new, after BIOS updates, and after CMOS clearings) sets the RAM CAS Latency to 3...This Corsair RAM WILL NOT run at that...so the system won't post.

The solution to this is obvious...put in other RAM that will run CAS3 and change it to CAS2 or CAS2.5...well that's getting annoying. Asus was supposed to fix this problem in BIOS updates...but they just don't seem to care.

There also seems to be a problem with temperature readings after BIOS updates...I just updated mine from 1002 to 1004 (board revision 1.04). Before my temperatures were 40c for the CPU, and ~ 30c for the system (I've turned off a bunch of fans and lowered the RPM on the CPU fan)

Now with this BIOS, I get a 21c reading for the system...come on...the room is well over 75F

I've seen this temperature reading problem on 3 different A7N8X Deluxe boards..and even an MSI K7N2-L ...so the nForce2 chipset seems to have a problem with it.

Anyone know anything about else about this? perhaps a fix?

I'll add another question to this, since I will be using an A7N8X-DX very shortly (still waiting for proc and RAM):

You mentioned that the board has issues with DDR400, but it should work flawlessly -barring memory issues- with DDR333 right? I'm ordering Corsair XMS DDR333, because it just isn't that much more expensive than the other stuff, fast too.

The PC2700 will work just fine...

I should clerify my statement..I'm not dissapointed with the board...I'm dissapointed with Asus.
