Object Oriented perl, worth the hassle?

I've been getting my ass kicked learning perl in an OO stylee. I am just wondering whether it's worth my while to learn it, or whether i'd be better off without it. I don't know why, but everyone's all "Oh OO is so easy! It's so logical I cannot believe you don't understand it!" Which is getting me down slightly.

Thanks,
Sean

I would suggest trying Python or Ruby if you want to play around with an interpreted language suited to the OO stylee. Perls syntax is rather fugly at the best of times and its OO support is moderately dire IMO (all be it a somewhat daft opinion).

Hm, thanks. I'll just stick with perl and avoid object orientedededdedededness (sp?).
