Kids cpu problem?

hi everybody...

ive got the KT4V mb now.

i tried to install an OS yesterday on a new hd,
but got error mesages
(blue screen) (something about BIOS or hardwares).

so i took power cable to cut the power many times.
(to turn off the system).

now the pc wont start at all when i press power.
the harddisk are warm and the cpu's fan is working.
but the heatsink of the cpu is COLD!?
nothing shows on the screen.

since there are lights on my pc case,
so i dont think that the mb is damaged.

then i installed the "D-Bracket 2" on the pc.
it was a thing which came with the mb and which use graphic signals to help users understanding their system.

if the cpu is not installed properly or damaged,
then it will show 4 red lights. and it did show 4 red lights! :\

then my friend came to me today and tried his cpu on my mb.
but the results was the same!

why? those 4 lights are confusing me.
its impossible that his cpu is damaged too.
and i have installed it properly and even had as3 on it.
and the cpu's fan was running all the time, so it could not me overheated :\

someone told me that it might be something wrong with the ram.
but there are only 1 way to put the ram in the slot, so i think its correct.

now my fried has taken my cpu (xp 1800+) home to try on his mb.
i hope for good news.

but i have came up with these :

- the mb is working
- the hsf is working
- the hd is working
- the psu is working

what do you think?

thanks for helping!

From your description, seems to point to bad MB. Have you tried your CPU in a known good MB to confirm it IS MB and NOT CPU? That would nail things down.

Even a messed up BIOS would boot to a point where you could enter into BIOS, or give some beep code. Extremely doubtful it is BIOS. Try a different MB.
