Basic Essentials

Hello all,

I need some help. Right now I don't have enough to purchase everything I need for my new computer, but in August I can get the 'basic essentials' .. meaning the things I don't get I can just keep from my last computer until I can get them at a later time. (Hopefully you understand my logic). Right now I have a crappy dell dimension 2350

Here's what I plan on doing: Going to purchase a new motherboard, processor, heatsink, video card, case, and power supply.. and keep everything else.. so here's basically what I will have:

New:
Motherboard - latest nforce2 board, probably from asus
Processor - AMD Athlon XP 2800+
Heatsink - Haven't decided yet.
Video Card - Radeon 9800 Pro
Power Supply - Entec 431 watt
Case - A chieftec case
Old:
Hard Drive: 30gb
CD Drive: 48-52 or whatever.
Monitor - LCD 17"
NIC - Linksys 10/100 LAN Card
Speakers: The ones that came with the dell computer
Sound card: none
RAM- 384MB

Now my question is.. all this combined, will I still see a remarkable change from what I have now? Right now I have a motherboard with no agp slot, which means I have integrated video, and a 1.8ghz processor

This is just until I get the money for everything else.. then I'll definitely be rockin'

Thanks in advance for any responses,

Todd

if you can afford it, or juggle things around a bit, I would buy the RAM new too. Then you can buy nice dual channel highly rated ram.
Otherwise to answer your question will it make a big change. YES!!
the video will be the biggest difference, the integrated ones are pretty bad.
good luck,
