NForce Video conflict -16color

new pc
board works this time!
ASUS NFORCE
the onboard 32meg Video won't work
in the device mrg. it says I have 2 video cards that conflict
except I have "NO" video cards
in the device mrg it displays
display adapters "like this
NVIDIA GeForce 32 Intergrated GPU
Standard Display Adapter [VGA]

in the properties for the intergrated NVIDIA
it says
Windows has detected two or more Display Adapters
Shut Down , Remove one or more
then restart

Well obviously I Can't remove any
But I'm afraid If I disable the VGA
It will not display anything when i reboot

Dose this make any sense?
stuck on 16 color with a NFORCE MainBoard

First question, did you run the mainboard system drivers? I am guessing you did.
Secondly did you just replace the mainboard and just kept the hard drives with OS on it? If you did was the previous board an nForce ASUS?
Do you have Windows XP?If so XP doesn't like that. Likes clean install.

FIRST
THANKS FOR THE REPLY
I did run the sys drivers
its a new HDD with 98 se
clean install

the install did not go real well
it kept locking up
so I fdisk it and formatted again
did the same second time around
after many reboots
I finally got the OS loaded
now the sys still has a tendency to lock
and this video conflict
If I can get this Video conflict resolved
I thought I would load Norton System Works
and let WIN Doctor
and
Disk Doctor have a shot at it

how bout clearing BIOS and rebooting
would this help ?

If it an OS problem upon install, I am guessing a
hardware incompatability. Here is a link to a good forum.nForcersHQ Website That site is nForce only. Each main thread is divided up by brand.

BTW what Brand of RAM and while you are at it, PSU brand and specs along with wattage rating.Check to make sure processor is seated properly as well.

OK, within Device manager, remove both graphics devices. (standard VGA and the nVidia). Then reboot. When windows starts up, it will find the graphics, load the nVidia drivers, and hey presto!!
